The water -repellent properties of the plastering coating are determined only after the solution of the solution, and completely hydrophobic qualities are manifested no earlier than 14 days after the plastering work. If the finished plaster shows its low water -repellent properties, then when compiling advertising documents it will be very difficult to find out what this defect is associated with: with errors in the production of plastering work or with the use of ineffective hydrophobic additives.
Plastering of the outer wall below the level of the blind area, as well as above this level to a height of up to 40 cm, cement mortar should be performed. Plastering of this zone with the same lime solution with which the surface of the facade is plastered is unacceptable.
It is necessary to check the compliance of the actual thickness of the plaster layer with regulatory requirements, and such a check is best done during the plastering of the wall, since such control after the end of plastering is hardly possible without damage to the plastering coating.
Color plaster based on mineral pigments, as well as applying tinted decorative plaster, cannot be done in a cold and humid season, t. e. from November to February inclusive. Due to high humidity, it is likely to secure free lime to the surface of the plaster, which leads to the formation of stains on the plaster coating.
When accepting the completed plastering work, attention should be paid to the following.
There should be no cracks on the surface of the plaster. In most cases, they arise after setting the plaster coating.
Before dismantling the forests, a plastering facade coating, made “with a hill”, t. e. with a scratched outer surface, should be cleared of particles of a solution that have a weak adhesion to the surface of the plaster.
