Screw piles have been used in the construction of industrial facilities since the 19th century. In the construction of residential buildings, they have been used for the past fifteen years. Screw piles are a pipe with a pointed end and blades, the design of the pile involves not loosening the soil with blades, but on the contrary. The foundation on screw piles is ideal when erecting low -rise buildings and has a much lower cost than other types of foundations. A screw foundation can be erected on complex soils and difficult areas in configuration. The piles are screwed in one day, after which they are filled with concrete to strengthen the structure. There are screw piles, the price of which is not too high, but also expensive. The piles used in individual construction are divided into two varieties: cast and welded. Welded are that category of piles, the price of which is not too high, in comparison with cast. The technology for the production of welded piles is welding to the pipe of an ordinary steel plate. With this technology, the cost of piles can be the difference and it all depends on the importance of the structure, you will agree to unreasonably purchase expensive piles for the bath, for example. The tip of the cast pile is made in specialized foundry. In this regard, such a type of screw pile is quite expensive.
However, it has a number of undeniable advantages over welded:
Firstly, they are less likely to take it to the side and in the case of a meeting with an obstacle when screwing, there will be no deformation or break off the tip.
Secondly, the welded suture of the pile is quite prone to corrosive exposure, in the case of foundry, the anti-corrosion properties of a screw pile are higher.
