There is an option to simply give a person what he needs (and repeat this N times). And there is another – to teach a person to fish himself, i.e. to focus on the source of the problem, then the useful effect will be much higher.
The difference between social entrepreneurship and charity is the presence of a dual goal: commercial and social. You can and should sit on these two chairs.
Who is a social entrepreneur?
The range of formulations of this concept is very wide. I will give as an example the definition of the Ashoka Foundation, which was the first to systematically support entrepreneurial social initiatives:
These are individuals with an innovative approach to solving the most pressing social problems. They are both dreamers and “inveterate” realists, who are primarily concerned with the practical application of their ideas.
A “practical dreamer” is a 100% hit on the bull’s eye (my heart). Yes and yes again! In my opinion, a social entrepreneur is exactly such a person.
