The tile foundation is best suited for building buildings in areas that have a poor loading ability of soil. This type of foundation easily tolerates all kinds of soil heaving and it can be installed almost everywhere, in any area.
When installing this type of foundation, a reinforced concrete plate is usually used, the thickness of which is not less than 30 centimeters – then the entire load from the building will be transferred to it and distributed evenly along the soil surface.
In order to make a tile foundation, you must first dug a pit, then compact the soil. After that, the bottom of the pit is sprinkled with a small layer of sand and poured with concrete. Then you need to reinforce the concrete slab. This is a very important and crucial moment in the work, so you can’t do without the help of a highly qualified specialist – only he is able to correctly calculate and control the process of manufacturing a tile foundation.
It should be noted that due to the large consumption of concrete, this type of foundation is slightly more expensive compared to other types, however, the tile foundation is recommended in certain areas of the Earth, since it allows you to build a fairly massive building, both on the sand and on the peat and clay soil with a high degree. Also, in order to reduce the device of the tile foundation slightly, you can apply the plate as a coverage for the floor of various outbuildings (barn, garage, baths) or use more compact buildings that do not need to build a high basement – it also helps to reduce costs.
It is very important that the construction site does not have a strong slope, otherwise the building may simply “slide down” down.
