Steel transitions. To build the line of the pipeline, it becomes necessary to combine two segments of different sizes. In this case, the connecting elements of the pipeline come to the rescue, namely, transitions. Steel transition – part of the pipeline connecting pipes of different diameters. The transition of steel is used in the construction of water pipelines, gas pipelines, pressure sewers, as well as in the transition from a polyethylene pipe to steel or vice versa. There are several types of adapters, but this element of the pipeline is resistant to corrosion and is stainless. It is made in the production of carbon or low alloy steel of various brands. It should withstand temperatures from -70 to +450, pressure up to 16 MPa and be designed for certain properties of the environment that moves in it (loose, liquid, gaseous). Therefore, the steel transition is widespread in chemical, energy, oil and gas, communal, metallurgical and food industries. Also, on a steel transition, the price consists of many parameters. Regarding the manufacturing technology and the method of use, this adapter is divided into two types: seamless (made by stamping method) concentric and welded sheet (made by centrifugal electric lane casting). There is still a cast and point steel transition, but it is rarely used. In its form, the transition can be concentric, it is used for vertical connection of pipes or on suspended supports (along the central axis of symmetry), since it has the appearance of a truncated cone and connects pipes of different diameters (small and large). And also a steel transition can be eccentric (similar to a truncated triangle) used in horizontal water supply along the lower line.
